My goal is to build the best instruments possible using
traditional woodworking and varnish methods while at the same time employing
computer based analysis techniques to help me make decisions to improve the
tone of the finished instruments. My skills and approach have evolved over the
last thirty years through experience and modified by historical and scientific
musical instrument research.All of my
instruments are built solely by me with a minimal use of power tools. My varnish
is also made by me using materials and techniques available in the seventeenth
